R U OK? Day – A Reminder That Every Day Matters
8 September, 2025

At Auscare Support, we know that mental health and wellbeing are just as important as physical health. That is why days like R U OK? Day hold such significance for us. They remind us to pause, check in, and start conversations that can truly change lives.
This year’s theme – “R U OK? Day – Any Day” – highlights a powerful truth: caring for each other’s mental health and wellbeing isn’t something we do once a year. It is something we need to practice, every day.
Why R U OK? Day Matters
Too often, people carry heavy burdens silently. A simple, genuine “Are you OK?” can be the opening they need to share what is really going on. These conversations can’t always solve someone’s problems, but they can show that they are not alone, and that support is available.
At Auscare, where our work is centred on supporting others, we recognise the importance of also supporting each other. We can only provide the best care for our clients when our team feels cared for, too.
At Auscare Support, our people always come first. We know that supporting the wellbeing of our team is the foundation of a strong, connected organisation.
Here is how we put that into action:
Open communication: We encourage team members to reach out, check in, and support each other – not just on R U OK? Day, but every day.
Flexibility: We understand that life happens, and we do our best to provide flexibility so our team can manage both work and personal commitments.
Resources and support: Whether it is access to professional help, peer support, or simply creating space for honest conversations, we prioritise mental health.
Culture of care: Above all, we are committed to building a culture where wellbeing is valued, respected, and protected.
R U OK? Day is a reminder that we all have a role to play in looking out for one another. A small question asked with kindness can open the door to connection and healing.
Today, and every day, let’s take a moment to reach out, to a colleague, a friend, a family member. Ask, “Are you OK?” And be ready to listen with empathy and care.
At Auscare Support, we don’t just say that our team’s welfare comes first – we live it. Because when our people feel supported, valued, and connected, we are all stronger.
Let’s remember: a conversation can make the difference. And it doesn’t have to wait until next year – it can happen any day.
