October is Mental Health Awareness Month – and Here’s How Auscare Leads the Way

October marks Mental Health Awareness Month, a time to reflect, share, and take action on one of the most important aspects of our wellbeing. At Auscare Support, we know that mental health isn’t just something to talk about once a year, it is something we prioritise every single day.

As leaders in the disability services sector, we take mental health in the workplace very seriously. Our team supports thousands of people across Australia, and we know that to provide the best care, we first need to take care of our own people. That is why we have built mental health support into the very fabric of how we work.

We provide access to an innovative Employee Assistance Program (EAP), making professional support easy and confidential for our team whenever they need it. During supervision meetings, we include mental health checks as a standard practice, ensuring open, honest conversations that help us identify when someone might need a little extra support. We don’t just leave wellbeing to chance, we have embedded regular check-ins and open discussion into our culture, so that nobody feels they are carrying the load alone.

Importantly, our commitment doesn’t stop with our employees. We extend the same level of care and access to our independent contractors, because they are a vital part of the Auscare family too.

By doing this, we are not just supporting mental health, we are leading the way in reshaping how organisations in our sector approach it. At Auscare Support, we are proud to create a workplace where wellbeing is more than a buzzword, it is a practice, a promise, and a priority.
