Started with Auscare Support:
January 2025
What I do:
As a Support Coordinator at Auscare Support, my role is to guide and empower clients in their NDIS journey, ensuring they receive the support they need to live more independently. I work closely with clients, their families, and service providers, offering understanding, compassion, and practical assistance to enhance their lives and well-being.
Unique skills:
I bring a unique combination of empathy, problem-solving, and strong communication skills. I excel at navigating complex systems, advocating for clients, and tailoring support to individual needs through a person-centered approach. My ability to build rapport and trust with clients allows me to understand their goals and challenges deeply, while my experience in case management and understanding of the NDIS process helps ensure timely access to resources. Additionally, I am highly organized, adaptable, and proactive, which allows me to stay on top of the fast-paced nature of the industry and meet clients’ evolving needs.
Previous experience:
I bring 20 years of experience from the community sector, with 15 years dedicated to disability services. Over the past two years, I’ve focused specifically on the Support Coordinator role. My background includes positions as an Assistant in Nursing, Disability Support Worker, and Youth Worker across both QLD and NSW in private and public sectors. This has provided me with a deep understanding of the unique needs of individuals and how to effectively support them on their NDIS journey.
I hold a Diploma of Community Services and have three certified skill sets in Case Management, Child Protection, and Leading and Supporting Colleagues. These qualifications have enhanced my ability to provide effective, person-centered support, and coordination to clients and their families, ensuring they can successfully navigate and access the services they need based on their unique goals and requirements.
Other interesting roles:
In addition to my experience in the community and disability sectors, I have also worked in retail, as an event coordinator, and have managed the demands of “family life.” These roles have helped me develop exceptional organizational, multitasking, and customer service skills. Retail taught me how to handle fast-paced environments and effectively manage client needs, while event coordination sharpened my attention to detail and problem-solving abilities. Being a mum has honed my patience, empathy, and adaptability—skills that are invaluable when supporting clients with diverse needs. These experiences have all contributed to my ability to connect with people and deliver personalized, compassionate support in my current role.
What’s Auscare Support like?
What I love most about Auscare Support is the team’s dedication and passion for making a real difference in the lives of our clients. We have a strong, supportive culture where collaboration and respect are at the heart of everything we do. The commitment to understanding each individual’s unique needs and goals is truly inspiring. It’s a place where everyone genuinely cares, and that shared purpose makes it a rewarding environment to work in every day.
Life outside:
I love spending time with my family and friends, whether it’s riding horses with the kids, bikes, or enjoying a game or watching the footy. I also enjoy relaxing drives to nowhere, beach days, and bushwalks—activities that help me unwind and stay connected to nature. These moments keep me grounded and bring joy to my life. Oh, and we have chickens that have a funny habit of making their way inside! It’s can be a bit of chaos, but it definitely brings plenty of laughs.
To sum me up:
I’m a passionate, compassionate, and dedicated person who thrives on helping others, whether at work, with my family, or in my community.
