Started with Auscare Support:
July 2025
What I do:
I work as a Support Coordinator, helping NDIS participants make the most of their plans by connecting them with the right supports and services that suit their individual needs and goals. I coordinate informal, mainstream, and funded supports, and ensure everything is running smoothly. My role also includes supporting participants in expressing their needs and guiding them through changes or transitions.
Unique skills:
I love connecting with and supporting people. I always do my best to encourage individuals to engage with their communities and build genuine relationships with them. This helps me better understand the challenges they face and develop effective strategies to provide the best possible support.
Previous experience:
I’ve been working in the mental health sector for over seven years and bring both professional and personal insight to my role. Having grown up in a socially complex environment and with close family members experiencing mental health challenges, I believe this helps me genuinely empathise with the people I support. My background includes working as a Therapy Aide, where I helped implement OT support plans to improve individuals’ mental health and wellbeing. I also worked as a Support Worker, which naturally led to my transition into the Support Coordinator role.
Other interesting roles:
I worked in a program supporting refugees as they navigated the challenges of settling into a new culture. Using trauma-informed practices, we developed activities to help them cope with their experiences and build resilience. I’ve also run recreational programs for a variety of groups, offering activities like painting, crafting, martial arts, dance, and music. These experiences have helped me connect meaningfully with people and encourage them to use their creativity as a tool to support both their physical and mental well-being.
What’s Auscare Support like?
I’m just getting started and already excited to learn more about what Auscare Support is all about. In my first few days, I can see that the team enjoys what they do and takes pride in being part of this organisation. I’m looking forward to being part of the journey here.
Life outside:
In my spare time, I enjoy activities such as music, painting, crafts, dancing, connecting with nature, and camping.
To sum me up:
I’m a compassionate and creative person who values genuine connection, cultural expression, and empowering others to thrive.
