Looking for a proactive, responsive and outcome-focused Support Coordinator?
Introducing Jackie Schenk
Your local NDIS Support Coordinator

Auscare support is excited to introduce you to Jackie Schenk. Jackie is one of the Support Coordinators assisting NDIS participants in the Goulburn/Mulwaree, Oberon and Upper Lachlan Shire Regions, NSW.

Jackie is passionate about assisting her clients to achieve their goals, build their capacity, and exercise choice and control over the supports they receive and how they receive them.

About Jackie

Jackie began her career in the disability and aged care sector 11 years ago.

She has worked as a personal carer for both aged care clients and clients with a disability in residential facilities, group homes and the community. Jackie also has experience working as a Support Coordinator, Aged Care Program Coordinator and Lead Consultant delivering aged care assessments across southern NSW.

The most rewarding part of Jackie’s role as a Support Coordinator is being part of her client’s journeys to achieve their goals.

Jackie and her family run a 115 acre farm, so she doesn’t have a lot of spare time! When she does get a break, Jackie enjoys watching movies, spending time with her husband and three sons, and with her many animals.

Auscare Support is proud of its reputation for providing the highest level of service to our clients. If you are an NDIS participant looking to engage a Support Coordinator or a service provider exploring Support Coordination services on behalf of a client, please contact Jackie today.

A Moment with Jackie Schenk

Why did you pursue a career in the disability sector?

Two of my sons have been diagnosed with an Autism spectrum Disorder, so I have been advocating for them for many years. I found that my experience with my sons could be applied to a professional career. After10 years in the IT industry I was looking for a more rewarding career and felt that the disability sector was a good opportunity to share my experience.

What do you like most about working at Auscare Support?

Auscare is very supportive and celebrates the knowledge and experience of their staff to provide the best service to their clients.

Favourite book/author...

Elizabeth Gaskell, Jane Austen, Phillipa Gregory or David Gemmell are some of my favourites. But George R.R. Martin’s Game of Thrones books are my favourites, for now anyway.

Favourite musician...

Metallica has been my favourite band since I was 13, however, I do like lots of different genres.

Do you have a favourite saying or inspirational quote?

"One life, don’t hold back!" This inspires me to work towards my goals and to not give up.

Do you have any pets?

I have a lot of animals on the farm, but my pets are two German Shepherds, a mini dachshund and three cats.

Do you have any hobbies?

I enjoy researching my genealogy.

If you could invite anyone to a dinner party (past or present), who would they be?

My earliest known ancestor from my Dad’s side, Edward Spoor c1640. Claus Schenk von Stauffenberg an ancestor of my husband or my grandmother.

Favourite food...

Lasagne, roast lamb and chocolate.

Favourite holiday destination...

Somewhere where there is a beach and sunshine but not too hot. I don’t really have a favourite, but I would like to go to Bora Bora.
