Krysten joined the Auscare Support Coordination team in 2020.
She has worked in community welfare and development for over two decades in a variety of areas, including disability group homes, strategic disability policy development for State Government (overseeing the Home and Community Care and the Boarding House Reform Programs), and in the Out of Home Care Sector. Krysten has a strong personal and professional belief in social role valorisation principles which aim to embrace individual diversity and enhance a persons’ value as a member of their communities.
Away from work, Krysten is a doting mum, health and fitness-focused, avid basketballer, and founding member of the Milton Ulladulla Roller Skating Girls Club.

A Moment with Krysten Taylor
Why did you pursue a career in the disability sector?
Studying nursing after high school, I was on a clinical practicum at Rydalmere Centre, where I was drawn to the ‘soif de vie’ of the people with disabilities I was spending time with. I found this inspiring and choosing a career in disability just felt like a natural progression from there.
What do you like most about working at Auscare Support?
From my first encounter with Auscare Support I have experienced an outstanding commitment to customer service. This is mirrored throughout all the tiers of Auscare Support’s internal operations. I call this professional parallel process, whereby the internal culture becomes the external culture.
Memoirs of a Geisha.
