Auscare support is excited to introduce you to Laura Stewart. Laura is one of the Support Coordinators assisting NDIS participants in the Macarthur & Illawarra regions.
Laura is passionate about assisting her clients to achieve their goals, build their capacity and exercise control over the supports they receive and how they receive them.
Laura has worked in the disability sector for three years. She has a background in Plan Management and also worked in an administrative role for an Early Invervention centre.
Laura was inspired to work in the sector by her father, who is an incomplete quadriplegic since being involved in an accident 27 years ago.
The most rewarding part of Laura’s role as a Support Coordinator is being able to make a positive impact on the lives of her genuine and inspiring clients. This has, and always will be, Laura’s focus.
In her spare time, Laura enjoys getting outdoors with her husband and daughter, walking the dogs, cooking, gardening and (when her toddler gives her permission!) horse riding.
Auscare Support is proud of its reputation for providing the highest level of service to our clients. If you are an NDIS participant looking to engage a Support Coordinator or a service provider exploring Support Coordination services on behalf of a client, please contact Laura today.

A Moment with Laura Stewart
Why did you pursure a career in the disability sector?
Growing up in a tiny town in the Riverina, I am a huge believer in helping people and giving back. My dad broke his neck when I was young, resulting in him becoming an incomplete quadriplegic. Being part of the inspiring way he came back from this adversity and continues to be a positive, self-declared comedian, whilst achieving so much has been nothing short of amazing. This played a large part in my interest within the sector – to help people and give back.
What do you like most about working at Auscare Support?
Auscare Support has a warm and welcoming team that go above and beyond for their clients. As a Support Coordinator, I also know I have support from the team when I need it too. We are a dedicated and responsive team!
'What I Know for Sure,' by Oprah Winfrey
Do you have a favourite saying or inspirational quote?
"Every challenge is an opportunity." I really believe that challenges shape who we are, and how we go about our lives. The good and bad both have a place in helping us move forward.
Jason Aldean and Fleetwood Mac – Can’t separate the two!
Do you have any pets?
Our old trusty Labrador, Bella, and our enthusiastic German Shepherd, Asha. We also have 4 chooks. Sandy and the Peggy’s.
Do you have any hobbies?
I absolutely love horse riding, but don’t often have the time to do this now I don’t have my own horses. I also love cooking, and just being outdoors in general, especially with my family and dogs.
If you could invite anyone to a dinner party (past or present), who would they be?
Amberley Snyder, for so many reasons! I am captivated by people that carve their own way, and overcome obstacles that may seem impossible to others.
Just one? Thai Duck Curry. Hands down.
Favourite holiday destination…
In all honesty, I have never been outside of Australia. I’m not a wanderlust type person but I do love the Whitsundays, or anywhere relaxing with my family.
Don't just take our word for it
“Finally! A provider of Support Coordination with sound knowledge of their role and comprehension of how the NDIS framework operates. I can now spend more quality time with my son, trusting that the plan we have worked so hard to achieve will be under Auscare Support’s Guidance.”
