Auscare support is excited to introduce you to Tori Cottle. Tori is one of the Support Coordinators assisting NDIS participants in South Australia.
Tori is passionate about assisting her clients to achieve their goals, build their capacity, and exercise choice and control over the supports they receive and how they receive them.
Tori has over 16 years’ experience in the disability and aged care sectors. She has worked in home support, nursing homes and respite centres across Adelaide.
Tori made the decision to join the Auscare team as a Support Coordinator so she could be a constant support for NDIS participants, in good times and in challenging times. The most rewarding part of her role is being able to see her clients achieve their goals.
Auscare Support is proud of its reputation for providing the highest level of service to our clients. If you are an NDIS participant looking to engage a Support Coordinator or a service provider exploring Support Coordination services on behalf of a client, please contact Tori today.
Why did you pursue a career in the disability sector?
When my grandfather passed away I met his carer at his funeral, she had been working with him for a while. She was as moved by his passing as the rest of us and I wanted to have a career that impacted me the same way as it had her. From there I completed the qualifications required to work in the aged care and disability sectors.
What do you like most about working at Auscare Support?
So far it’s the abundance of support I get. Any question I have is responded to quickly and I am directed to the team member who can best assist me.
Anything punk, Limp Bizkit, Korn, Metallica. I like some pop music too with Pink and Adele being my favourites.
Do you have a favourite saying or inspirational quote?
“The imperfection in me creates the perfection before you: without my impurities, I am not me.”
Do you have any pets?
2 dogs, Scoobs who is nearly 9 and is a German Spitz x Kelpie, and Zedd, a Shar-Pei x Maltese who we have had for nearly 10 months. We originally fostered Scoobs through Scruffer Lovers, a dog rescue organisation, with the intent of finding him his forever home but we all fell madly in love with him. On day 1 we could tell he was Scoobs soul brother, so we adopted him.
I’m obsessed with hamburgers but as a coeliac who can only eat gluten-free food, it’s very difficult to get a good one!
Do you have any hobbies?
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my partner and my two teenaged children, playing games or just talking and having a laugh. I love taking my dogs for walks to the park or around town. My youngest son and I also volunteer at a local charity, ‘Scrufferlovers,’ an organisation that finds forever homes for dogs. I also enjoy listening to music.
Don't just take our word for it
“Finally! A provider of Support Coordination with sound knowledge of their role and comprehension of how the NDIS framework operates. I can now spend more quality time with my son, trusting that the plan we have worked so hard to achieve will be under Auscare Support’s Guidance.”
