What I do

The most rewarding part of my role as a Support Coordinator is being part of my client’s journeys, assisting them to maximise their NDIS plans and helping them to achieve their goals.

Started with Auscare Support: May 2020

Unique skills:
I have a background in IT and have completed half of my degree in psychology. A lot of these skills come in handy still, with working remotely, clients accessing technology supports, and understanding motivation, emotion and lifespan development.

Previous experience: 
I worked for 10 years in the IT industry providing advice to clients on available technologies that can improve their daily life. I also have 10 years’ experience in the disability and aged care sectors, with the last 5 years leading a team of aged care assessors. Understanding how ageing can impact on people with disabilities equips me with the skills to advise clients on their care needs as they age.

Other‌ ‌interesting‌ ‌roles:‌ ‌
I worked at Woolworths as a teenager as a checkout chick. I’ve been an IT systems analyst fixing PCs, servers and networks, from call centers to sewerage treatment plants. I’ve run my own mobile remedial massage business in Townsville and I run a farm business from my 115 acre property in the Southern Tablelands. We offer glamping, camping, firewood and boxed lamb/goats and soon pigs.

What’s‌ ‌Auscare‌ ‌Support‌ ‌like?‌ 
Auscare is a fantastic team of caring people, willing to support you through any challenge the role can present. I find that if I am unsure of something, my Auscare support team coach can advise me and assist when needed.

Life‌ ‌outside:‌ ‌
If I have some spare time, I’m usually relaxing, watching a movie with my family and enjoying my time with them.

We‌ ‌only‌ ‌have‌ ‌one‌ ‌life,‌ ‌don’t‌ ‌hold‌ ‌back.‌
