I assist participants and /or their families with understanding their NDIS plans and putting their plans into action to help achieve their short and long-term goals.
Started with Auscare Support: April 2021
I have practical and lived experience with disability as a carer to my special-needs daughter and late mother who had dementia and Parkinson’s disease.
I have a caring nature and am passionate about helping people achieve their goals and see positive and effective changes in their lives
I am the mother of a special-needs child with mild cerebral palsy and an intellectual disability. Working as a Support Worker has also given me a broader understanding of different types of disability.
I volunteer with my local church, where I have assisted many families, in particular CALD, to obtain NDIS packages and sourcing local providers.
I have been an accountant and have a finance background, so I understand cash flows and budgeting, which helps to ensure packages are appropriately spent and value-for-money is achieved.
Other interesting roles:
I worked in finance with NAB for more than 10 years and as an accountant in a small accounting practice. I helped medium size clients with all their financial needs from accounts payable, BAS reporting, payroll and budgeting to preparation of tax returns.
What’s Auscare Support like?
I’m happy with the marketing support offered and the DSC online training courses offered.
I like walking (recently completed the 60km Coastrek walk and am looking forward to the 100km Oxfam in October). I also enjoy the gym, going to movies and cafes with friends, as well as shopping.
To sum me up:
I’m an authentic, passionate and caring person who has a heart for helping and encouraging people.
