What I do

My role as a support coordinator is to help participants understand their plan and assist with finding them suitable and beneficial support services. I help participants increase their capacity according to their goals, live more independently and be included in the community.

Started with Auscare Support: May 2023
Unique skills: I have been volunteering since young, and I am currently volunteering at a local food relief centre, outside of work. I come across so many people from different backgrounds and walks of life and this has increased my empathy and desire to help the vulnerable and those in need. This is one of the skills I bring into this role with participants on a NDIS plan who come from all different experiences, diagnoses and cultures.

Previous experience: I worked for the Department of Justice, Adult Parole Board for 6 years, prior to coming into this sector as a Support Coordinator. Being exposed to the prison reform and hearing stories of people from all walks of life, has prompted me to look into a more fulfilling career that is in the front lines of assisting the vulnerable. This resulted me in finding this role as a Support Coordinator within the NDIS at Auscare.

What’s Auscare Support like?: What I like about Auscare Support is the level of training and support provided. Also, the culture of helping each other and the positive energy from the staff from all levels of positions in the company.

Life outside: I enjoy a really nice view of nature, especially during sunrise/sunset times. Travelling to parts of Victoria/interstate/international with impeccable views or scenery, especially hidden gem areas.

To sum me up:

I like to think I am a team player, positive, caring, flexible, resourceful, detail oriented, willing to learn, dependable and responsible.

My son has Muscular Dystrophy and uses an electric wheelchair for mobility. I am the Junior Coordinator of Wheelchair Soccer. I help to establish junior teams in the NSW Powerchair Football competition so that my son, and other young people with a disability, can participate

As a parent who has a child with a disability, the flexibility to schedule my own work hours is so important. It ensures that my clients receive the highest level of service whilst my son receives all of the care he needs.

I enjoy swimming and paddle boarding.

I am very family focused, diligent, loyal and passionate about supporting others.
