What I do

I am the head office team’s Payroll person and Bookkeeper/Assistant to the CFO. I also assist with some HR tasks, and am helping develop Auscare Support’s internal professional learning program.

Started with Auscare Support: November 2020

Unique skills:
Two years ago, I pivoted away from a career in event management, social media, and other creative industries for a financial admin position. I have a lot of communications experience.

Previous experience: 
I worked as a TV Closed Captioner at the ABC. Providing this service to Australia’s deaf and hearing-impaired community for 7 years instilled me with a great sense of pride in my attention to detail, as it would directly affect the experiences of audience members with a disability.

As the organiser of the Australian Podcast Awards event and program for three years, I enjoyed the responsibility of providing online entry platforms, editorial direction, and gala awards nights that were accessible to Australians of diverse backgrounds and abilities.

Other interesting roles:
I was a barista for many years, so I can make a mean cappuccino, and my sandwich presentation skills have opened many doors. 

What’s Auscare Support like?
Auscare Support is a dynamic, innovative organisation that is trying to make a positive impact on as many people as it can. It’s exciting to play a small role in its development. There are a lot of creative and interesting people who work here, and I love knowing that we are helping empower people in the disability community.

Life outside: 
I am an avid, but unfortunately ageing, overly-competitive tennis player. When my knees allow it, I love exploring the wilderness of the Southern Highlands with my partner and my dog.
