Why did you pursue a career in the disability sector?
I studied population health at uni and a job came up in my local area in a disability services organisation so I thought I would give it ago. I soon enjoyed learning about funding, and at the time, we did our own assessments and put services in place for people. I enjoyed working with clients and helping them meet their goals.
Why did you make the switch to Auscare Support?
I like that Auscare is proactive in working with clients and that they put the client first. This mission can be lost in a lot of organisations.
Favourite book… I love to read and have recently discovered the Australian author Tim Winton. I love the way he writes. I recently read his work Cloudstreet and I became so involved in the world of the book I didn’t want it to end!!! 📙
Favourite band/musician… My music taste is very eclectic but I can’t go past Led Zeppelin! Their song Thank You was our bridal waltz! 🎸 🥁
Favourite movie… This is super daggy but my favourite movie is Calamity Jane starring Doris Day. She is so beautiful and the music is great fun! 🎬
Do you have any pets? We have a gold fish called Silver.
Do you have any hobbies? I have a 5 month old baby and an 11 year old boy so hobbies have gone by the wayside! I do enjoy reading and crosswords. I also write a bit of poetry.
Favourite celebrity and why… Michael Buble… because he is Michael Buble!!!!
Favourite food… Pasta!!! 🍝
Favourite holiday destination… I can’t go past a visit to the beach. The South Coast is beautiful. 🏖
